cLIENT CHALLENGE – A complete Procurement Transformation that addressed processes, strategies, organisational structures, resources requirements and skills, goals and constraints of the organisation.
APPROACH
The overall project reviewed the business process requirements, the development of options and alternative designs the organisation could follow to transform its procurement function. Then provide an implementation path at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
To perform large Procurement Transformation projects, BvW Global uses the GERAM Methodology (Generalised Enterprise Reference Architecture and Methodology). Business Process Redesign tools are part of the tool set of enterprise architecture.
RECOMMENDATIONS & OUTCOMES
GERAM steps included recommendations across the following areas:
- Identification
- Concept
- Requirements
- Preliminary Design
- Detailed Design
- Build
- Operate
- Decommission
Project outcomes also included not just the business and procurement processes of that organisation but also included how these processes were either impacted by various procurement business rules which contributed to other processes efficiency and effectiveness.
Note: The concept of ‘extended enterprises’ where an organisation contributes to another organisation’s success is becoming more and more critical to achieve competitive advantage in the marketplace.
